 Being Peace 

 A creative workshop based on Thich Nhat Hahn’s poetry and teachings

 Sharon Benatar

Nobel Peace Prize winner and author, the great Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh is renowned for his work on peace, compassion and meditation.  His sensitive teachings focus on simplicity and common sense and he often uses poetry to convey his deep wisdom.

“Breathing in, I calm my body.
Breathing out, I smile.
Dwelling in the present moment
I know this is a wonderful moment”

We invite you to explore these themes, as they relate to your life, through several means:  playful self- expression and experimenting with art materials (paints, clay, charcoal etc.) and materials found in nature.  We will reflect on some of his poetry, teaching and meditations. We will also walk, connect, relax, breathe, meditate and smile.

You only have to be able to hold a paint brush to participate.   Please bring comfortable clothing you can paint, relax, walk and meditate in.  Bring a favourite poem or picture.

The workshop is open to beginners as well as more experienced practitioners.
