Gardening and Cooking Retreat

 Learn  to cook some vegetarian dishes you can  serve up this festive season

Presenter:   Wendy Poulton
Date:  4-6 December
Weekend ~ R1900 – R2 200

 This is a great opportunity to give back to Emoyeni while learning how to cook some vegetarian dishes you can serve up this Festive Season.  Emoyeni is hosting its first combination gardening and cooking retreat where you will help revamp the herb garden at Emoyeni as a legacy project and take part in a hands-on cooking demonstration.  The retreat will consist of the following:

How can we live wholeheartedly in the midst of a challenging world

Presenter: RJ Chippindall
Date:  16-20 December          4-days ~ R3 580 – R4 030

We have a choice in how we meet the difficulties that life presents us with; we can be defensive and erect barriers to pain, or we can chose to approach discomfort with an attitude of friendliness and curiosity.  Being open to what is challenging requires courage and practice as it is not in the nature of the human brain to remain calm in the face of difficulty.  In relaxing into what is painful we are making friends with ourselves and our world and developing maitri, the unconditional self-acceptance that is the basis of compassion and wellbeing

Taking Time to Reflect

Presenter:  Mervyn Croft
Date:  29 December – 3 January
5-days ~ R4 150 to R4 900

The New Year is a powerful symbol of impermanence, of the cycles in nature and in our own lives.  It is a time to reflect on the past, to open to the present and to question what it is that we are doing with our lives? This 5-day meditation retreat will mostly be in silence, giving us the opportunity to deepen our understanding of impermanence and explore how it is inherent in every aspect of our lives – our health, our work, our relationships…

The group as a container in the time of uncertainty and bewilderment

Hayley Berman

Standard rate: R2 300 – R2 700 (en-suite);
Generous Rate:
R2 800 – R 3 100 (en-suite);

Teachers Dana:

In this retreat, we will gather within a group matrix  to a place of connectivity and creativity. In these uncertain times, nothing is as we have known it to be and nothing will be as it was. This is a common group experience which we will explore through the group matrix…
