One Christmas Eve, Thich Nhat Hanh gave a talk at Plum Village, the Buddhist monastery he founded in 1982. His message was simple: ‘Christmas is always an opportunity for us to meditate on the topic of home, our true home’.

It’s not only a period of celebration such as Christmas, Ramadan, Rosh Hashanah, or one of the Hindu festivals that present us with the opportunity to contemplate what and where is ‘home’; every day, every breath, every step can provide the peace and clarity to bring us to our true home.

Guided by an enchanting tale of four souls, the retreat will give us many moments to gently explore the lessons that these souls teach us about companionship, vulnerability, kindness, trust, resilience, and hope that guide us towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

The ultimate aim of the weekend is to provide a relaxed and pleasurable time to reflect on our personal journey and the people who have helped us along the way. No matter how lost, alone, and uncertain of our place in the world, we can find the meaning and purpose that ultimately lead us home.

We will observe Noble Silence for the first 24 hours of the retreat. Following this, those who wish to converse are welcome to do so while respecting others who choose to continue their practice in silence. Observing Noble Silence throughout the retreat is recommended as this helps us to see things more clearly, and therefore, to be in deeper contact with ourselves and those around us.

Book your spot on this retreat.
