In this retreat we will explore how the Buddha’s teachings inspire a way of being in this world, at this time, in a way that is both caring and responsive.

The retreat will consist of formal sitting practice interspersed with periods of walking and gentle movement to support an embodied experience.

Silence will be maintained throughout.

What is Secular Buddhism?
Secular Buddhism focuses on the original teachings of the Buddha, stripping away the superstitions, cultural attachments and religiosity added in the past 2500 years. Secular Buddhism allows for the ancient wisdom of these teachings to be added to whatever background/world view you already possess. “Whether you’re a Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Hindu, Believer, Non-believer, it doesn’t really matter; Secular Buddhism is about helping you to become a better whatever you already are.” (Noah Rashetta)
