Amanda Dinan
Amanda is a sustainability practitioner with almost three decades of experience gained in diverse sectors. She currently serves on the advisory board of the Imvelisi Ideation Programme and works at SouthSouthNorth in programme management – implementing a largescale pollution mitigation programme and a small-scale community based carbon credit programme.
Amanda will be sharing insights from her journey of working in the sustainability industry, and will be drawing from a range of perspectives such as ecological relationships, stories from people in whose livelihoods homes and families have been affected by climate change, international trends and importantly the areas where we might bring a positive contribution and, in some way, play a part in the radical social, political and economic change that is required to respond to the escalating global environmental crisis. “Buddhist practice has been extremely powerful, helping me in the process of reconciling with the reality of loss, as well as bringing strength presence and perspective to the practical actions which we might take in the world.”
