The Alexander Technique is a somatic practice that involves noticing and releasing tension through developing awareness alongside directing the body consciously.
Through guided somatic practices, breathwork, nervous system regulation, subtle movement, and relational presence, Conscious Embodiment offers new knowledge and a gentle and experiential pathway towards lightness of being, deeper self-awareness, and the practice of consciously guiding the body.
This journey is for seekers, facilitators, therapists, coaches, creatives and anyone looking to truly reconnect with their authentic selves, let go of habituated tension, and develop a new skill in sustaining greater ease and presence.
What we will be exploring
- Body mapping– enhancing mind/body awareness through knowledge and various activities
- The nervous system– emotions, feelings, thoughts, conceptualisations and even our reason are all flows of information. How does consciousness relate to our continuing embodied experiences?
- Connecting consciousness to experience– consciousness itself has the power to change our experience. Learn how to consciously sustain a more natural embodied integration that further clarifies our consciousness.
- The practice of constructive consciousness guidance– Inhibition and direction—are principles of the Alexander Technique. Learn how to refine our capacities to respond to stimulus.
- Consciousness as light– To become aware is to bring light to the darkness. We will explore the boundaries of consciousness through bringing awareness to our bodies.
- Consciousness versus content– Consciousness, like light and truth has the power to illuminate content. Being rooted in content vs being rooted in consciousness.
