This retreat invites us to explore the Buddha’s profound Four Noble Truths through the mirror of the Five Elements -earth, water, fire, wind, and space-, in the process uncovering what it is that mires us in the dis-eases of our lives, and how ease and Freedom arise in the simplicity of meditation practice.

Set amidst the muscular landscapes of the African bushveld, we will enjoy a relaxed blend of nature walks in the bushveld, guided meditations, elemental contemplations, and reflective poetry. Each day will focus on one or two elements.

In understanding each element, it becomes both a teacher and a lived experience: the stable earth grounds awareness, water reveals the fluid nature of cause and effect, fire illuminates craving and transformation, wind embodies the movement toward freedom, and space opens us to the boundless freedom beyond suffering. Participants emerge with embodied understanding of the Four Truths woven into their bodies and hearts, carrying practical wisdom and contemplative tools for living with growing ease, clarity, compassion, and freedom.
