We often feel pressure to improve or reinvent ourselves.  This retreat offers a gentler alternative – starting exactly where you are.   On this retreat we will include audio and video teachings by Pema Chödrön over this weekend.  Her work will inform guided meditations, mindful walks in nature and shared reflection – simple, grounded practices that will continue to support your daily life long after the retreat ends.

Pema Chödrön is an American Buddhist teacher, author, nun and mother who inspires millions worldwide with her down-to-earth message of practicing peace in turbulent times.  Through her writings she has helped us discover how difficulty and uncertainty can be opportunities for awakening.

“Instead of asking ourselves, ” how can I find security and happiness?” we could ask ourselves, “Can I touch the centre of my pain?  Can I sit with suffering, both yours and mine, without trying to make it go away?  Can I stay present to the ache of loss or disgrace – disappointment in all its many forms – and let it open me?”Pema Chödrön
