Life is passage, whether this refers to the process of ageing, or going through life-scenarios, or progressing in a career, or committing to a spiritual ‘path’. We are in movement, and in some sense we *are* the movement of our pulses, our breathing and our hearts and minds.

How does this fit in with the search for stillness? And how can the desire that gets us going arrive at fulfilment, the freedom from craving?

During this retreat we will attune to balance through entering and exploring movement of body, heart and mind via a blend of meditation, qi gong, and chanting.

Prior experience of silent meditation retreats and the ability to peacefully coexist in a retreat situation is strongly recommended

Title: Biodanza – Dancing with Life

Biodanza, or ‘dance of life’, is a unique modality of conscious dance integrating music, movement, and emotion. Developed in the 1960s by Rolando Toro in South America, who drew on his knowledge of art, poetry, mythology, psychiatry and musical semantics to create this extraordinary dance form that is now practised in over 50 countries. There are no steps to remember – but it is not just free dancing: every dance has a meaning, with the sequence of dances structured in a particular way. By engaging with music, movement, and interpersonal connection, Biodanza enables participants to experience a heightened sense of presence and aliveness. People of all ages and fitness levels can enjoy and highly benefit from it.

OPEN THE HEART, STILL THE MIND

SUE COOPER

Weekend ~ 19-22  March 2026 (3 DAYS)

Title:  Open the Heart and still the mind compassion retreat

This 3-night Open the Heart & Still the Mind Compassion Retreat is held in containing & replenishing Noble Silence and is suitable for beginners as well as experienced practitioners.

Inspired by the wisdom of the Dharma and an integration of Buddhist and western psychology, we will cultivate mindfulness and compassion practices which calm the nervous system and help integrate body, heart and mind, to Create a Safe & Nourishing Home Within.

As we learn to rest and to listen more compassionately to ourselves in shared silence, we will find our quiet centre and build more trust in our authentic, open-hearted presence. This allows us to make wiser choices and to end the relentless cycles of fear-driven reactivity and self-abandonment.

The retreat includes silent and guided meditations in all postures, poetry and inspiring teachings, daily qigong, gentle walks in nature, time for journaling and deeply replenishing rest. Sue will also offer short, individual sessions throughout the retreat for additional, individual containment and emotional support.
